NBM currency reserves of Moldova has reached new historic maximum, closely approaching the level of $1 billion.

As "InfoMarket" agency was informed in the National bank of Moldova, by August 3, 2007, currency reserves of NBM made $988,99 million. Only in July, 2007, they increased by 100 million, and since the beginning of 2007 – by $213,7 million, respectively. It is expected, that up to the end 2007, currency reserves of NBM will exceed $1 billion. By the end of the first six months of 2007, NBM currency reserves made $878,52 million, having increased by $103,23 million or by 13,3 % since the beginning of the year. By the end of December, 2006, NBM currency reserves made $775,29 mln.
