MOLDOVAN GDP INCREASE IN 2007 MADE 3%.
Information provided by the National Bureau of Statistics. It informs, Moldovan GPD in the current prices in 2007 made 53 bln 353,7 mln leis ($4 bln 751 mln), in comparable prices - 46 bln 091,5 mln leis ($4 bln 104 mln). Moldovan government forecast for 2007 was 4% GDP increase in connection with the current shocks – gas price increase and ban on wine-making import to Russia. Later Moldovan government and the IMF improved the forecast on GDP to 5%. However, severe draught damaged agroindustrial complex for more than $1 bln, which affected the rate of the economy growth in the II half of 2007. For 2008 Moldova forecasts GDP increase at 6%. It is planned that in nominal terms GDP will make 56,3 bln leis ($5 bln). The World Bank expert assess, Moldovan GDP growth in 2008 will make 6,8%.
